Services

North Water District Laboratory Services, Inc. provides analytical services for municipal agencies, NPDES permit holders, industries, water and wastewater operating companies, and engineering firms. NWDLS is unique in the environmental laboratory field for our ability to help our clients understand the analytical results and recognize problem areas in their wastewater treatment systems.

NWDLS provides field collection services for the many different needs of our clients. We provide many types of sampling services, including automatic composite sampling. We can provide a range of field services for our clients who may need scheduled permitted testing, individualized location special samples, and industrial baseline monitoring.

NWDLS is a full service laboratory capable of analyzing a wide range of environmental parameters. We follow methods set forth in SW846, EPA Methods for Water & Wastewater, and Standard Methods for the examination of Water & Wastewater. We also incorporate methods provided by our clients for specific in-process utilization and quality control.

Microbiological analyses include Total Coliform (SM9222B), e.Coli (EPA 1603, SM 9223B), Fecal Coliform (SM 9222D), HPC, IRB (B.A.R.T.),and Enterococci.

Sludge analyses include % Solids (SM 2540G), B.L.F., Class B Analysis, P.C.B. (SW-846 8082), Paint Filter (SW846 7.3.3), S.O.U.R. (SM 2710B), Sludge Volume Index (SM 2710 D), T.C.L.P. (SW-846 1311), and Volatile Solids (EPA 160.4).

Organic analyses include Carbamates (EPA 632), Herbicides (SM 6640B), Haloacetic acids (EPA 552.2), O-Chlorine pesticides (EPA 608), O-Phosphorus pesticides (EPA 1657), Phenols (EPA 420.1), Semi-Volatile Organics (EPA 625), SUVA, Total trihalomethanes (524.2), TOC and DOC (415.1), TPH (TCEQ 1005), UV254 (5910B), and Volatile Organic Compounds by GCMS and GC (EPA 524.2 and 624).

Inorganic tests including a complete suite of Metals to low-reporting levels, (EPA methods 200.7, 245.1), Alkalinity (EPA 310.1), Bromide (EPA 300), Chloride (EPA 300.0, SM 4500 ClB), Total and Amenable Cyanide (EPA 335.2, 335.1), Reactive Cyanide (SW-846 7.3.4), Fluoride (EPA 300, Hach 8029), Hexavalent Chromium (SM3500CrB), Nitrite (EPA 300), Nitrate (SM 4500 NO3D), ortho-Phosphorus (Hach 8048), Phosphorus (SM 4500 PE), Sulfide and Reactive Sulfide (Hach 8131, SW-846 7.3.4), Sulfite (EPA 377.1), Sulfate (EPA 300.0), Silica (Hach 8186), and TKN (EPA 351.3).

Wet Chemistry analyses include Ammonia Nitrogen (SM 4500NH3D), BOD and CBOD (SM 5210B), Chlorine Residual (EPA 330.5), COD (Hach 8000), Conductivity (EPA 120.1), Hardness (SM 2340B), Hydrogen Sulfide (Hach 8131), Inorganic Suspended Solids (EPA 160.4), MLSS (SM 2340D), Oil and Grease (EPA 1664), Pre-dilution BOD (SM 5210B), Salinity (SM 2520B), Surfactants (Hach 8028), TDS (EPA 160.1), TSS (EPA 160.2), Turbidity (EPA 180.1), and VSS (SM 2540E).

Field Testing performed by our trained Sample Collectors includes Dissolved Oxygen (SM 4500G), pH (EPA 150.1), and Temperature (EPA 170.1).
